International Liability Business Panel

The International Liability business panel comprises 20 underwriting representatives from the Lloyd’s market. The panel members meet on a bi-monthly basis to discuss both UK and International Liability issues. Role of the Panel

  • Identify issues considered to be of interest or concern to the LMA members, for discussion within the business panel, and refer as appropriate to the relevant LMA standing committee and the LMA Executive
  • Respond to requests from the Non-Marine Committee (NMC), the LMA Executive and other LMA committees and groups for consideration and recommendations on issues relating to UK and International Liability business
  • Liaise with the NMC and LMA Wordings Forum to develop or revise policy wordings or clauses for adoption as LMA accredited wordings
  • Provide a forum for exchanging of views and information between market practitioners
  • Liaise with the NMC to undertake other technical activities, establishing working groups as necessary to undertake this work

 The following issues are currently being, or have recently been considered by the International Liability business panel:

  • US sub group formed to reflect specific interests of liabiilty underwriting sector
  • PL & Products wording review nearing completion
  • Members concerned with the Law Commission Review
  • UK underwriters concerned with legacy claims such as Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL)
