Gemini - Digital Expert Management & Settlement- Phase II

Introduction

This update follows on from the last Gemini bulletin LMA19-034-TB issued on 20 November 2019. Phase II of the Gemini Claims Expert Management platform remains on schedule for delivery in April 2020.

To recap, Gemini will be the single platform that removes the complexity, delay and cost to experts submitting their fee to Lloyd’s carriers. It will deliver an efficient, straight-through fee agreement and payment process, whilst at the same time capturing accurate structured data on expert spend that will allow Lloyd’s carriers to have true visibility and analytic capability of expert spend for the first time. The delivery of Gemini remains aligned to the Future at Lloyds and Claims Blueprint.

Delivery will initially be limited to Lloyd’s carriers, but expansion to ILU & LIRMA will be explored after initial delivery. The LMA and LIMOSS will be reaching out to all managing agents ahead of deployment to engage on the onboarding of claims experts and adoption by each managing agency.

Build & Delivery

Advent has completed the development of the Advent Service Management module, that will allow them to create a parallel UCR and process the expert fee. Docosoft and Charles Taylor are currently working towards a delivery date of the end of February 2020 to build and test functionality within their products that will enable claims adjusters to record the appointment of an expert to a claim. This will be the only change in the process for claims adjusters recording the appointment of the claims expert either in their claims management system, where they have WriteBack, or within Gemini. We are now engaging with Sequel and Guidewire to commence the development within their products, and reach out to other WriteBack vendors immediately after initial delivery.

Testing is scheduled to conclude in April 2020, with subsequent delivery to the market on a phased basis, as each WriteBack vendor brings their new expert management functionality online.
