California Claims Earthquake Certification Training
Wednesday 21 February 2024
Event: 13.00 - 16.00
Venue: Old Library, Lloyd's, London EC3M 7HA
AUDIENCE
This presentation is open to Lloyd’s syndicates and London market insurers only.
DESCRIPTION
Overview
Every three years, insurers conducting business in California are required to complete earthquake damage evaluation training.
From this lecture, attendees will be able to:
- demonstrate knowledge of earthquake fundamentals
- describe how earthquakes impact various building types
- explain how programmes can assist earthquake victims
- explore when to hire an expert
- recognise building codes
- consider post-earthquake repair options.
The panel will present the evaluation of earthquake damage to a wide range of structure types, focusing on mid- and high-rise concrete structures, properties likely to lead to large, complex claims for LMA members.
In addition to satisfying the earthquake training requirements in California, this training also satisfies the yearly California Fair Claims Settlement Practices Regulations training.
Mandatory certification is required by the California Department of Insurance every three years. Certificates of completion will be emailed to participants following the successful completion of this session.
This presentation will conclude with a 16.30 reception at Factory House, Leadenhall Market, London EC3M 7AA.
