LMA appoints Powell as Claims Director

The Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA) has announced the appointment of Janine Powell as Claims Director.

Powell will join from Lloyd’s, where she is currently Head of Customer Oversight and Delegated Authorities, which includes responsibility for setting Lloyd’s Customer Standards and overseeing associated performance and compliance by syndicates and third parties. Prior to this she held various other senior roles within Lloyd’s since 2010 and has over 25 years of insurance industry experience.

At the LMA, Powell will provide claims leadership on strategic, technical, and operational matters and will seek to influence and challenge the strategy of claims across the market and Lloyd’s, on behalf of LMA members and the Lloyd’s claims community, to enable the future success of the market.

LMA Chief Executive Sheila Cameron said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Janine, a highly respected leader in the Lloyd’s market, who will bring a wealth of knowledge and expertise across technical and operational claims, oversight and standards. Janine will be an important addition to our leadership team as the market continues its digitisation journey and as Lloyd’s delivers on its Blueprint 2 commitments to transform claims data, processes, and technologies."

Powell will be joining the LMA later in 2022.
