ABOUT THE PROGRAMME
This programme is designed to provide attendees with useful, practical working knowledge of risk management in the Lloyd’s market. Specifically, it will:
- investigate the nature and scale of risks in the market, including new and emerging risks
- provide delegates with an understanding of practical risk management concepts
- show the importance of risk culture and how this relates to all members of staff
- describe how risk appetite is addressed by a Lloyd’s managing agency
- help delegates to gain skills in risk management techniques
- introduce key solvency capital concepts.
It will also highlight the importance of setting a risk strategy and raise awareness of risk management principles by drawing on regulatory requirements, published standards and Lloyd’s Governance Standards regarding risk management.
In the final session, delegates will work together in teams on a case study to develop a risk management framework and strategy and will present their proposal to a panel of Lloyd’s market risk specialists.
Please note that some extra hours of work will be required when working on the final presentations. Delegates should also be aware that the main purpose of this programme is to focus on the individual’s learning experience and not on the winning team.
