Operating in a world of work that is increasingly volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA), we need to be able to function at the top of our game. We need to be resilient, able to think laterally, to juggle varied demands and schedules, to collaborate and work effectively with others and be able to slow down enough to make clever decisions. In short we need to be able to operate effectively under pressure. Mindfulness practices and principles provide a set of tools and techniques that enable you to do just that.

In this short, lively session Janice explains the facts behind what mindfulness is, and what it isn’t, and explores how and why it works. This session will cover:

  • The background and benefits of mindfulness
  • The science that underpins it
  • The principles and practices of mindfulness
  • Mindfulness in the world of work.

Janice Benning, after having recovered from chronic illness, trained in many of the therapies that assisted her recovery and then went on to use her experience to work with others.

Co-founder and Director of the NeuroVitality Clinic in Harley Street, London, with her own business promoting health and wellbeing in the workplace, Janice also works as Director of the not-for-profit group, Reclaim Health, and has a breadth of experience working with individuals and organisations. Working with corporations around the world, lecturing, running courses and coaching sessions, Janice believes that creating corporate wellbeing and resilience enables both the company and the individuals within it to function at optimal levels. She offers established courses and also works alongside doctors, therapists and specialist practitioners to create and develop bespoke packages ensuring a company’s individual requirements are met.
