You are invited to attend the Cyber Claims Committee Forum on Thursday 05 December in the LMA Presentation Room.
This forum is split into three sessions: the first session will discuss the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA); the second session will provide an update on regulatory and legislative developments and the third session will look at BI and ransomware.

09.00 - 10.00 - California Consumer Privacy ACT (CCPA):
On 01 January 2020 the CCPA becomes Law and will become the most stringent privacy law in the US. Businesses not in compliance will face significant financial penalties.
Panelists Joan D’Ambrosio, Atheria Law PC and Richard Bortnick, Traub Lieberman Straus & Shrewsberry LLP will analyse the CCPA’s highlights and their impact on underwriters, brokers and policyholders alike. They will also compare and contrast CCPA and GDPR to provide a context for where the US is and where it is going with respect to personally identifiable information.
10.15 - 11.15 - Around the world in 60 minutes:
Patrick Hill, DAC Beachcroft will give an update on regulatory and legislative developments from around the world (with the exception of North America) in the field of cyber/data protection. This presentation will look at fines and penalties imposed as a result of data breaches and claims and Court activity in the cyber and data protection field.
11.30 - 12.30 - Business Interruption (BI) and ransomware:
Anthony Hess, Kivu and Peter Karutz, MDD will uncover the true cost of BI and outline steps to mitigate the risk of a crippling systems shutdown.
