Investing at Lloyd’s: drivers, appetites and processes

Wednesday 13 March 2019
Event: 09.30 - 11.00
Venue: Old Library, Lloyd's, London EC3M 7HA

Anyone who would like to get a better understanding of what investors in syndicates motives are, who they are, how capital is raised and how it enters and exits Lloyd’s is invited.

Capital raised for underwriting does not come from heaven and is not endlessly available.

This masterclass will give an insight into the challenges faced by senior management of a managing agent.

It will give an introduction to capital management from an investor’s perspective, and will be covering the following:

  • why invest in a syndicate?
  • who are the investors?
  • what are they looking for in the short and long term?
  • what is the timetable for getting capital in and out of Lloyd’s?
  • what is the future outlook?

Attendees will get a better understanding of the capital processes at Lloyd’s and the role it plays in setting a syndicate’s strategy.

This masterclass qualifies for 1.5 CII CPD hours.
