April 2019

Two new claims committees are now up and running

General Liability: The new General Liability committee is up and running, led by chair Elliot Goss, TMK, and deputy chair Andrew Flear, MS Amlin.

Political Risks (to include Credit Risks and Financial Guarantee): The new Political Risks Claims Committee had its first meeting in March. This group is led by chair Stephen Crabb, AWAC, and deputy chair Andrew-Dane Fairclough, Chubb.

As with other sector-specific LMA committees, the main aim of these groups is to provide representation of their respective claims handling communities. Collectively, the members of the group are responsible for highlighting issues and concerns that impact claims handling in these classes of business, and for developing and leading initiatives to address these issues. The group identified a number of priorities that it wishes to focus on in 2019 including: understanding the brokers’ wants and needs, liasing with XCS’ adjusting service, and engaging with their adjusters.
