Winners of Syndicate Business Plan Programme announced

27 May 2016

The winning team in this year’s LMA Academy’s Syndicate Business Plan Programme was named at a ceremony this morning in the Adam Room in Lloyd’s, following final presentations from each competing team.

Olivia Bailey (Ark), Caroline Palmer (Cathedral), Natasha Grasso (WR Berkley), Erik Johnson (Allied World), Paolo Ventura (Tokio Marine Kiln) and Lucy Ashton (Hiscox) competed under the name of Echo and saw off three other teams to win the award, which was presented by Tom Bolt (former Lloyd’s PMD Director).

Individual awards were also presented to Natasha Grasso, Team Echo (Best Presenter) and Andrew Davies, Team Radius (Best Overall Contribution to the Programme).

During the programme, four teams of young market practitioners competed to prepare syndicate business plans and have them judged by a Dragons' Den-style panel of judges formed of Steve Eccles, Mel Goddard, Bob Stuchbery and Tom Bolt.

Twenty-four young professionals took part in this eight-module programme and demonstrated their learning by creating syndicates, preparing business plans and deciding on their portfolios of business.

Over 60 people attended the event including managers and sponsors of the participants.

The Syndicate Business Plan Programme is fully accredited by the CII.
