LMA Personal Accident Committee appoints Laura Owen

London, United Kingdom – 10 January 2017 – Laura Owen has been appointed to the Lloyd’s Market Association’s (LMA) Personal Accident Committee, which leads on a wide range of issues affecting Lloyd’s managing agents and syndicates on behalf of the Lloyd’s market. 


Laura, Head of Accident and Health at Hamilton at Lloyd’s, has been elected to serve for a five year term. John Moffatt (Head of Specialty, Argo) and William Waddell-Dudley (Senior Class Underwriter – Accident and Health, Talbot) have been re-elected to the committee.
 
The Personal Accident Committee’s priorities for the year ahead include:

  • monitoring the final regulations implementing the US affordable healthcare Act (PPACA 2010)
  • conduct risk issues arising from FCA policy work in this area 
  • coverholder reporting standards.
     

Laura said: “I am delighted to have been elected to the LMA Personal Accident Committee, whose work is highly beneficial to A&H underwriters at Lloyd’s. 
“I look forward to offering my expertise and experience to the important work of the Committee.”
Laura takes on her new role, in addition to her role at Hamilton at Lloyd’s, with immediate effect.
